I apologize to everybody here

I gave some misleading information previously in this post... I heard it from somebody and did not validate the accuracy of the information before posting it into this thread.

I made a comment at somebody regarding the process of heat flow across the SAIP/Cat/Engine, and I was incorrect.

Again, I apologize for what I said. I hope you guys do not think I'm a believer in false information.

Before you delete your SAIP, first make sure you won't need it to pass your local emissions testing (different areas have different rules). The last thing you want to do is find out your car won't pass unless you get that system reinstalled and functioning.

I have the ABDracing FMIC. It required complete relocation of the SAIP and it's mounting bracket. You can either do that, or just remove it. I will say that you have slim options of where to mount the bracket and SAIP if you choose to relocate it. I was glad my shop did it. When I saw what they had to do, as I was taking it out completely a few months back, I saw what a pain it must have been.
So Hella New to the page long time reader of the forum,,
I got a 2004 b5.5 AWM and ive just bought the same kit he mentioned at up above, and i was wondering if ill have to remove both in order to make the pipe fit?

Generally, most FMIC will require relocating the SAIP pump and bracket. I would not remove it unless you have the ECU coded to remove it too.

I have an FMIC and removed my SAIP completely. I haven’t gotten any codes surprisingly, does stage 1 software usually wrote those codes out?
im guessing soo because its not really all that SUPER important and mine has been failed since i bought the car, and i live in washington and we dont have any emissions laws up here sooo i dont really neeed mine at all i planned on taking it out and i bought the delete kit for it and the steel plate for the combivalve but my car already has a SMIC so i wanted to convert it to a FMIC and i just didnt know if it would be worth it. i am purchasing Boost Dynamic Tunings $500 stage 2 tune for this car and my k03 went out so i bought a k04 to replace it i already have a test pipe and the o2 sensors and exhaust manifold 550cc injectors, catch can, and aftermarket air filter, silicone turbo inlet and the fmic plus 2 different diverter valves. all the gaskets as well and crush washers but i mean with a smic do i really NEED the fmic? and even if not need would it be harmful if i put it on instead anyway?
thanks again for all your help

It depends on your driving. One pull up a mountain can heat soak a stock SMIC. I've heatsoaked a chipped K03 in mid 80s degree weather pulling from 40-100.
If you set a CEL from not programming out the SAIP, your ECU will pull power. Not all companies will tune out the SAIP, especially now that the EPA has started to sue companies that delete emissions equipment.
