6 months ago i accidentally bought my 99 passat 1.8t in tiptronic instead of manual. And it sucks. I know a 5sp swap is possible because i called DubWerks. How much do u think it'll cost including parts and labor?

I ask already will labor and parts it will cost you about 4K to 5K its not worth the money. For $1500 you can ger the level 10 high torque converter and change out the internal so that it can shift better and can handle more power. That wil be the next thing to may car.
Where do u get the level 10 high torque converter from?

Has Level 10 started building torque converters for VW's? I called them last year and they told me they weren't building torque converts for VW's.
Thats what they told me as well just a few months ago. I was going to put in the PES blower & a few extra ponies from nitrous if they were. But as it were, they said they werent. I wonder if they changed their minds. That would be great.

Level10 has always come through for my friends & family in the past making some unbeleivable trannies for my cousin's Porsches and friends' Civics & Integras. Those custom trannies coupled with some custom driveshafts from www.driveshaftshop.com... makes for a potent combination.

I cant see how it would cost that much for a manual tranny conversion. there isnt any custom fabrications that need to be done. evereything is bolt on. but you got to remember that its not just the tranny that you need, you'll also need the shift linkage, pedal cluster, master cyl., driver shafts, clutch and flywheel. its the parts not the labor thats gonna kill ya.

Level I just talk to them no more than a week ago they have the new high end torque converter and they have the new bulletprof tran kit. I dont want my trans to go plus its new, I just want to better if it does go. The labor will cost 800 to take out and install from level 10 and 500 for the torque converter.

FYI - Talk to Hvydrnkr and Femi. They have dealt with Level10. With the tiptronic...its going to be laborous to have them do a manual swap. But believe it or not, Level10 does the upgrades for the Audi croud, and the tip transmissions in the Audi, and VW are the same from what I understand. So, call them, ask them if they do that Audi tip stuff, and they will prolly say yes.

A friend of mine told me about level 10 last year and how the Audi guys have been able to safely increase hp and torque by upgrading to level10. Here's level10 website if anyones interested

http://www.levelten.com/

If you get a chance do a search for level10 on www.audiworld.com. One of the guys has a PES kit pushing 400HP/400Torque!! If you tried that with the stock torque converter it would probably roll over and burn to a crisp !!

I won't be doing this mod anytime soon hopefully... I have to many other things I want to get done first. But if one of you guys happens to do it please let the rest of us know how it goes.

Thanks

Dear Chester ,
We have a pts transmissions system that will make the auto faster
than a stick. More power to the wheels. Faster shifts and gets rid of
all the lag and the hesitation off the start 1/2-1 second off 1/4 mile
times. We need the cores to upgrade and redo. Takes 4-5 business days.
PTS TRANSMISSION SYSTEM $4464. PTS TORQUE CONVERTER UPGRADE $498. S&H
TOTAL $300 and I will pick up the rest of it.

Thanks for the inquiry!
Regards,
Sam
