Hello Everyone,

I was just curious if anyone have done this mod yet on a Votex front bumper. I recently picked up a pair of S6 LED Fogs from OEMpl.us that I was planing to add to my MK4 or even my wife's stock Passat bumper.

But as of yesterday, I was cleaning my garage and I found an old Votex bumper collecting dust. I was planing on getting it painted and installed when I got the rest of the car painted (car is still not painted). But since I got these lights, I am curious to see how it would look on the Votex front.

What do you guys think I should do?

i think it could work and have thought about this mod myself if i was to do it i would put them or try and modify to fit in the area circled but that's my personal preference as they would be hidden

Thanks bigray  I was thinking the same area. My biggest debate in my head. Was either to recessed the lamps in the opening, but will only display 4 of the 5 LEDs in the housing, but keeps the integrady of the design of the bumper OR if I mold the fog lamp the in the same area, but expose the entire lamp, then I can optimize the full spectrum of the map, but lose some of the key design element of the bumper.

It's driving me nuts. :poke:

BTW: Bigray, I hope it's okay I used your photo.

Maybe if you place them in there, it´s just a good looking mod but can they light as well as in the right position?
yeah but for me personally it would'nt matter as ive never had fogs so it would only ever be a good looking mod

to be honest to get the 5th led to be shown it would be a pain in the ass
as it needs to be cut and plastic welded but still i dont think you would tell its even been done unless next to another votex bumper
if i it was me i would live with 4 led's instead of the 5 lol

and no worries on the picture feel free to use em

Hello,
first, sorry for my bad english, the Audi S6 are not foglights, the name is Daylights, in German TFL = Tagfahrlicht.
Here is a link to a German Passat Site.

@ dub-nation,
i think the Lights are to big on the body,
slightlyhigher would be better

Michael
The Michael for the link. Sorry for calling them fogs, the reason I called them fogs, is because I am going to replace my current fogs with these LEDs. Granted thier are not intended for Fog light use, but that is how I am going to wire them.

As far as the location of the lights, I would need to mount them lower becuase I have modified the bumper and there is no placement for the LEDs in the top area.

I will post pictures soon. And you will better understand what I am doing. :wrench:

I finally got the bumper...

It's still needs to go back to the body shop, I am unhappy with the smaller details, but with the quick turnaround I think it was expected. :poke:

What do you think, I have been working on this bumper for years and it sat for years. I was waiting to have enough money to paint the car all at once, but at an impulse decided to debut the bumper for Dubfest.

I'll post some progess pictures abit later. But here is the final pictures.

the fog light holes make it look a bit strange
It looks stupid I know. That is why it needs to go back to the shop. He got the location right, he got the right amount of display LEDs, but he flushed mount the LEDs instead of recessing them in the original factory hole. :banghead::poke::mad:

You have no idea how distraught I was when I saw it. But there was nothing I could do at the time. I picked it up the night before at 9pm and finally installed everything by 1am, then woke up at 5am to get ready to drive for the car show yesterday.

Not sure what I can do now. I doubt I could have them recess them back like factory. One thing I did notice inorder to see the LEDs you would need to be way far back to see them, so recessing them would be even harder to see. So I think I might have them just round the edges more and try to replicate the roundness of the center hole, but have it flush mounted.

I dunno, I need to contact the body guy today and see what he can do from here.

probably because there's no fog lights in there yet homie:rolleye:
Ya that too. I have no FMIC yet and so I decided not to put them in untill I get the FMIC. :banghead:

I wish money grew on trees. :poke:
