Yellow Fogs?

Anyone try modding or tinting their fog housing? I am trying to achieve the lexus yellow type of fogs. i see that there's a yellow tint in the reflection aspect of their housing... which means they could be just white bulbs reflecting yellow walls. i currently have the philips all weather and they are more orange than yellow. any ideas?

here's what i currently have:

get the phillips all-weather H3. They are yellow.

pwerbulbs in the UK has them with free shipping.
I use the SPP Precision Optics yellow bulbs in my fogs...
boeserblick, i am already running the philips aws...

hkpassat, u got pix of your fogs in action?
I have the PIAA Ion Crystals, they are yellow with more of a blueish hue than the pure yellow/orange that the Lexus bulbs have. Probably looks similar to what you have, but with a little more yellow (I think). Looking at your picture, did you put additional chrome on your lower black plastic grill? Looks good.
Oh, and I forgot, the PIAA H3's run at higher than the 55w (their stupid 55w=85w idea), so they blew my fuse a couple of times. You have to bump up to 15 instead of 10 in the fuse slot. I didn't know this, and I wasn't too pleased with that, but everyone here said that it was OK to do, and shouldn't cause any problems. So far they are right. PS check out Daniel Stern's lighting page.
adam, yea did the chrome adds. got them on ebay, they are not the best of quality when seen close up... so i wouldnt recommend them. i was just too lazy to find my own chrome trim source... :/ as for the piaas, do you have pix?
I have the PIAA Xtra ion crystals and they are VERY yellow. Had to run a bigger fuse though. 30 instead of 15. Here is a crappy picture but you get the idea of what they will look like on a very dirty car

I have PIAA Xtreme Whites that also says 55W = ??W. I thought it meant it sucks in 55W but the equivalent output is ??W, in your case 85W.

Anyways, Sylvania/Osram also has yellow H3s. I think they're called All Season.
how much did you pay for the piaa xtra ion crystals? i saw a pair for about 52bux...
upgrading your fuses to 30 from 15 is NOT a good idea...

not that i was thinking about it. but just out of curiosity... why?
obvioulsy the bulbs are drawing more current than what the wiring was intended for... could lead to a melted wiring, or worse a fire...

not too mention if the bulbs are rated alot over 55w, they could melt the housings...

how long have you had this setup? any melting yet? :/
I have yellow protective film on my m3 fogs. they are very yellow. I believe yellow fogs are called french fogs. My b5 has the fogs in the head light, so I do not have yellow on it. the film was like $15 and very easy to install. And it also protects the fog light. I am not sure if they have precut for the passat, but worst case you can cut to fit.
I didn't move my fuse up to 30, I either went from 10 to 15 or 15 to 20 (don't remember), either way a bump of 5 not 15. I guess the yellow ones do draw a higher amount. I bought them online on Ebay. Actaully, I emailed PIAA, they said something along the lines of 'yeah, a lot people have had trouble with fuses with these.' Paid about 55 bones. And yeah, they are more yellow than the others mentioned.

where would you buy such a film? i remember back in the days people cut rainbow/crystal films to tape over their old headlights to get a rainbow appearance... they didnt stick on too well, if i recall. to activate your yellow film to it's full effect, the lightbulb should be white, no?
http://www.eurosportacc.com/lamin-x.htm The film I speking of is not ricer like. And it will not fall off. It is used on all kinds of high end cars to protect lights and paint. I have it on my ZKW euro glass head lights also (clear film). The above site has the yellow film, buy if you look around you will mind more compaines that make it. I know 3M makes it also.

What makes you the expert. I took my car to the shop that I always do and this is what they told me to do

I have had this set up for like 4 months and if there was a potential problem w/melting I would not have bought the bulbs. And I run them all the time as well except when its sunny
