Obama has been benefiting most from the credit crisis so MCCain is trying to change his image as the one who will save the day. Brilliant move on his part. Bastard!

Pretending is the key word here. McCain's sudden presence in the Senate isn't going to make a difference. This is electioneering.

All he has to do is look at Obama stint in the Senate to know that. I bet McCain at least still knows where it is.

McCain's best contribution would be to sell some of his houses and cars and give the proceeds to Goldman Sachs - the rest is posturing to attempt to breathe life into his faltering campaign.

But if he really believes he will be too busy to debate on Friday, and his running mate is ready to be president, why doesn't he send her to the debates?

"It is going to be part of the president's job to deal with more than one thing at once. It's more important than ever to present ourselves to the American people."

IOW, not only can McCain not run a computer, he can't multitask.

Of course it is electioneering (as is every single move either of these two men have made), its all politics, and like it or not politics is one component of leadership. As far as it making a difference, who knows. The fact of the matter is neither ones job is running for president, they are still both senators and that is where they are need right now. They have both been campaigning for a year and a half now, whats a few days off?

All that being said I bet there is a resolution by Friday and the debate goes ahead.

IIRC, none of the committees he sits on are involved directly with the bailout so it's just hollow politics as usual. Shame, shame, McShame.:thumbdown
