So It was a nice day so i take out the vdub to stretch her legs. Get 99 % to my destination and i hear the axle start clicking like it was going to snap while going in a straight line (Ask me how i know, the passneger snap in december ). The passneger side went two years with a boot torn. I was wondering what would make a fine axle start just go ? It just started to click this month while making tight turns I checked to see if the boot was torn, its not, had all the control and tie-rods replaced in october, so i have no ideal what could have caused it. Far as i can tell its an OEM axle it has a part number sticker

If you have the habit of laying on the gas with the wheels turned that can wear them out faster. Some CV joints last the life of the car but 130,000 miles is not that bad, maybe your just unlucky on this one.

Are you the first owner? The first owner may have had torn boots that were not fixed for a while. Who knows? shit happens.
