I received my coil pack recall letter on Monday, but was tied up with work yesterday and had Jury Duty today (guilty, BTW). The car was running fine so I planned on calling tomorrow to make an appointment in the next week or so.
Well, wouldn't you know it, I went out tonight to pick up some things for dinner and BOOM, flashing CEL and what feels like a serious misfire.
(there wasn't actually a BOOM, I added that for literary effect)
So tomorrow morning I will be on my knees begging and pleading for the dealer to fit me in same day for the recall service.
I wrote a little blues ditty for the occasion:
Well since my baby left me,
When my Volkswagen throws a CEL,
I'm takin' the whole day off from work,
Or riding the bus from Hell...
