I'm new to VW and to my Passat. It's 2010 Wagon highline, 6spd

I'm going to need winter tires and would like to get rims (steel if possible) for winter. Can I put on 16" rims even if my stock ones are the 18"'s ?

Will it be too much sidewall? What size should I be looking at putting on if the 16"s fit?

Thanks

You should be able to read the tire and rim size on the doorwell of the driver’s door for smaller wheel sizes or in the owner’s manual. It should be the same size as your fullsize spare. I have an 09 wagon and it is P215/55R16 i believe. Make sure you check the speed rating on the new tires it is supposed to be 97...

If you use the specified version then the circumference of the tire is will be identical to stock.
