Window regulator slide

Hi all
My driver's window works ok but was doing some funny anti-pinch stuff sometimes. I pulled apart the door and found the culprit- broken plastic regulator slide. Called the dealer, heard about the warrenty for bugs, jettas, etc, but not for passats. Anyway, aparantly you can't buy just the slide from the dealer, you have to get the whole regulator for $130. I am not paying $130 just for a part that's worth about 12c. Does anyone know where I can get one? Maybe someone has had thier reg. replaced and can get a slide off thier old reg. if they still have it. I believe it doesn't matter if it's the driver's or passengers door. Thanks much.....

That's what I was thinking, but I didn't know if they would let me rip apart a perfectly good door for just one little part.

i'd say it's at least worth a shot.......better than forking over $130 to the stealership!

EDIT: Are you talking about that little plastic piece? the cylindrical looking white one?

It's a little white plastic piece about the size of a matchbox that slides on the rails and recieves the metal window clamp. There's two in each door. PS: anybody know the proper way to alighn the window in the clamps when you are putting the door back together?
Re: Window regulator slide (speresie)

In Aligning the window slide the window to the top and tape it to the door frame. Run the regulator slowely up to capture the window. Untape and lower the window carefully to the access holes. Barely tighten the bolts so that it grips the window. Run the window up slowly to the top then hold the switch to set in place. lower back to the access holes and tighten up.
