I've used silicone spray on the pivot points and white lithium grease on the 'detents and rollers'. The pivot points will start groaning again in about 4 weeks. Anything better than silicone to use here?

I used white lithium on the hinges. I hadn't ever lubed them in 6 years. squeaking gone.

It is made by Wurth/SaBesto, probably available at NAPAs and lots of different dealers, not just VW.

Ya, but it goes in almost as thin as brake parts cleaner to get down into the crevices and stuff, then thickens up into a glorious grease. Yummy.
