What's the space below the CD Changer shelf? There are some mounting screws for that bin as well and I was just wondering what is supposed to be there. Thanks.

Never figured it out. The space above is for the first aid kit.

I'm going to guess its for the TV tuner that goes with the european Navi unit.

maybe.....so the navi unit is all in one up front? i thought the hard drive/cd unit might be mounted in the rear, but i could be wrong.

There is no harddrive in the Navi and the CD is in the HU.

I'm still just speculating.

Sounds like a good idea but what kind of tools would fit? I wanna use that space for something like that too. Let me know what you come up with.

Theres actually 2 things that I am aware of that goes there. 1) Cell phone hook equiptment in Europe. 2) First Aid kit. VAG actually has a first aid kit that they sell as an "accessory".

I put in a first aid kit & an emergency kit in there (water, disposable camera - never know when you'll need it & just in case of an accident.. photgraphic proof, food rations, etc.)

Yeah the first aid kit goes into the middle shelf right? and then there's a s mall one below which is the phone thing unless it's a different 1st aid kit you're talking about.

NO, the CD Changer goes on the middle shelf, the top shelf is for the first aide kit, and the bottom shelf....that's the question.

The top shelf is for the first aid kit or cell phone equipment (Europe), the second shelf is for the CD changer, the bottom shelf is for the amplifier.

amplifier? Amplifier for the monsoon goes under the rear deck, passenger side.

On my 2003 variant, the amp goes right under the CD changer in the hatch by the rear tailights.

i use the space below for cd storage. makes for quick changes in the oem changer 8)

I used mine to make a nice custom power/speaker center so its quick to change amps and whatnot.
