I have picked out my seats - Cobra Imola II's. Cost at Sube Sports is $579 or so, which seems reasonable enough. But the bracket cost is killing me - $125 each for the sliding rails to fit the B5, then another $125 for the brackets to bolt the seat to the rails. $250 each side for brackets! When I got my Recaros in the 80's, the seats were about $500 each and the brackets were only $50 each side.

Is this just what they cost, or can I find them significantly cheaper? I do NOT want to design-my-own brackets. Thanks - Rusty

Bumpity Bump.

I was impatient and went ahead and ordered them (driver's side), but I'm still curious because I'll be ordering a pax seat within a year.

You might be able to go used, but my impression is that most brackets are really expensive.

You might be able to find someone who's switching their seats over to a new car and getting rid of their Passat or A4 brackets. Check Audiworld, because more people over there have aftermarket seats.
