I have a 99 GLS. I havent done anything to it yet and i really wanna put rims on it first. The question is what size should i go? I want to do 18's but im not sure if they will rub or even fit. I wanna keep the stock hight with the rims on because where i live, Lowering your car is a very expensive fine. But i will end up lowering my car just gatta get some more money.

17's or 18's with out rubbing and what tire size should i put with it.

Im think of BBS RXII :wink:

thx

17, 18, even 19s will fit. if you just read around through this section of the forum, you'll see that your issues are addressed in 30-100 threads

as a general rule

17x7.5=225/45-17
17x8=235/45-17
18x8=225/40-18
18x8.5=235/40-18

lowering will really depend on the offset and the suspension that you use.

hth. I know that the search sucks, but scroll around, read, learn, absorb, reuse.

Hey, i just picked up a set of A4 B6 five spoke sport wheels, and my tire size is 235/45 r17, but i thought that they were 17x7.5

Could it be possible to have this tire size on a 17x7.5 wheels or does this mean that the sport wheels are 17x8?

^^^ I have the same question...
Is there a problem fitting a 17 X7.5 rim on a 235/45/17 tire? should it be 225/45

ya, it might be better to go with the exact fit (215). I suppose 225 would be ok. There prob would be more sidewall flexing. But I guess 235 might work. I have 205 width Falken Azenis tires (which really seem more like 215) on my 15x6.5 Rotas, and they seem to drive fun. I'd think as long as you're not racing, it should be ok, and you prob wouldn't even know the difference. However, I'm no expert. Good question though. :eek:h:
