My wife's Subaru leaks a lot more than either of my Passat's. Of course, I spend a lot more time working on the Passat's but for the Subaru, it's just more like check and re-fill the fluids every few months. It usually needs oil, coolant and power steering fluid. The brakes don't leak (!) and it doesn't leave marks on the driveway and I trust the car but it's just not the same type of machine as a Passat.

Always chasing a leak here too. If I had a dime for every spot on my driveway from my 2 Passats I’d have enough to buy a Bentley 😂

How many are running?

I have 2 out of 3 running, but only 1 driveable :(
2 out of the 3 are currently running. The W8 runs, but not drivable. Get's started every once and a while.

The steering is very stiff. It’s a reman. Pump is good.
So I decided to adjust the yoke. No avail. Still very stiff.

Bought a new battery for the wife's GLX.
The old one finally succumbed to the AZ climate. Good enough to start the car yesterday, tried starting the car this morning, all it would do is make a faint clicking noise.
Guy at the battery place just about dropped his jaw. He saw the old one was a little over 4-1/2 years old. He couldn't believe that it lasted that long in the AZ heat.

Swapped out the EVAP canister and, unfortunately didn't take a bath in gasoline. I was hoping that would have been the problem, but no. And I could force air thru all the lines; back to N80,up to LDP and to the tank. While shooting it back to the LDP, I did get a strong gas smell, so that might have narrowed my search. I don't know enough about that system to know one way or the other.
The Bentley shows a "T" connection in that line which goes to a vacuum booster on the back of the engine. Maybe I broke that in all the messing around I did back there. Fingers crossed that it is that simple.

Well, it's technically not a Passat, but if ya squint just a bit and don't look too deeply, it's still an ATQ engine....

Got the heads built, installed, new timing belt and kit, just finishing buttoning up the rest of the engine. Eventually, it'll get the twin turbos from the A6 I parted out.

Well, it started and ran, oil and coolant warnings, guess I know why it came with new sensors. Drove it and there's something wrong with the shifter, won't go into rev or 5th. Gotta figure that out.

Sounds like the shifter just needs a little adjustment?

It did. Has a short throw shifter I found out, and the 6mm was loose, and it's missing the snap ring to hold it in place. Now onto more of the project, a new windshield, and maybe a new power steering pump possibly. Filled it and it screams.

I was reconnecting my battery and the wrench hit the frame on the positive terminal by mistake... yeah... so I think I frigged the new ignition coil (all cylinders are throwing misfires and perhaps the can chain tensioner? It’s running so rough it’s like I forgot to reconnect the cam sensors and it dies eventually.. Is it a possibility that the short screwed a bunch of stuff like that?

Always...
Positive first.
Negative last.
You'll never have a problem.

Start looking for blown fuses first.
