i hear ya, but my wife needs to be able to drive this when neccesary, and i barely trust her driving an auto...r3awak3n said:Thats why you should have bought a manual A-Tiller! Funny I also always thought about that, why isnt the tip on the side of the driver? I mean, the auto u just put it in a D and thats it while if u wanna shift urself if would be better if it was closer to you! But do the MOD and u can have a nice MOMO shift knob!

There is the Audi TT 3.2 DSG shiftnob will work... I actually got one from a GB here. Dont know if there is still one, but you can find it from you dealer. Do note, that "shaft" that comes with it is not cut right for Passat and you will need to trim. Just remove the Passat one and you will see what i mean, not a hard job at all.A-Tiller-the hun said:thanks for the link...
but that still didn't answer my question...
was the an OEM alternative to the big monster we have...?
do you have pics...?Zuhaib said:There is the Audi TT 3.2 DSG shiftnob will work... I actually got one from a GB here. Dont know if there is still one, but you can find it from you dealer. This is so that you don't accidentally put it in Tip mode.not to mention why is the Tip on the right side...? it should be on the side of the driver...
I agree.. I use my TIP a fair amount and when it falls back into Automatic mod its very annoying. I noticed the TIP on my friends 330 is on the left.YetAnother20V said:Well! I hate when the opposite happens. When I am shifting using the tip, any slight pressure towards me will put it back into D. I totally agree, the tip should be towards the driver.
well, that doesnt make sense! when u drive auto all u do is go up for D and down for P, or whatever it is since i can say i dunno how to drive an auto! How would u accidentally put it in Tip Mode (all u do is 2 moves). Also, its more probably to put it on auto while driving TIP whit the shifting being positioned this way. When u are driving tip and ur keeping ur hand on the shift (it being in the middle and u being in the left) its more probable u will push it to Auto!veedubyo said:This is so that you don't accidentally put it in Tip mode.not to mention why is the Tip on the right side...? it should be on the side of the driver...
