Excerpt:

In announcing Volkswagen as having the best program, James Bell, publisher of IntelliChoice.com, said that VW offers the best warranty. VW's warranty extends to two years or 24,000 miles beyond the original manufacturer's warranty.

Volkswagen also has a strong enforcement program, Bell said, to make sure that dealers comply with the program's requirements in terms of vehicle condition, inspection and customer service.
Having never bought a pre-owned car in the last twenty years, I can't comment.

Feel free to talk amongst yourselves...

My B5.5 is a 2002 CPO, haven't had many issues at all. When I did the dealer took care of them no questions asked, no b.s. Now that I'm out of CPO and under 3rd-party ext warranty I'll see how it goes.

imo, the cpo is definately worth it if you can get the car for a good price, esp. for the 1.8t, since it guarantees that all maintenance has been done up to the POS. also, the 2/24 warranty and free roadside is nice too.

now, if they want $2k more for CPO, then it's not really worth it. when i bought my cpo, it was already 3k under kbb, so that's why i got it on mine.
