Look at what I got to see this weekend! Vintage racing at Road America (Elkhart Lake, WI)

There were a lot of cool cars there! :cool: What trips your trigger? I'm sure it was there.

Oh, and the best part, it only cost $15 to be there.

wow! great pics. i love going to stuff like that. i gotta get to road atlanta some day this summer if/when they have a vintage weekend.

oh yeah, and what kind of car is that in second to last picture (the red "02")? i am liking it.

Thanks, being there was WAY better than the pictures show! I have to get out to the track more often myself.

That red 02 is called a Bill Thomas Cheetah. Crazy fiberglass body on a tubular chassis with a HOT Chevy big-block engine. That thing got me excited too! :thumbup: :cool: :thumbup: It was SODAMNLOUD that I was almost liquefied when he started his run.

Cheetah body-only kits show up on EBay from time to time in the Classic_cars/replica section. I think that Cheetah and the Austin Healey Sebring (replica) bodies are **cooler alternatives to the Cobra.
