I have discused this before but I have just recieved a Vag-com in the mail so i thought i'd test this out (btw, if u dont have one, get one, its worth it). So ive been getting a check engine light and when i pulled the codes i got this:
P1128 Long Term Fuel Trim mult.,Bank1 System too Lean
P1137 Long Term Fuel Trim Add.Fuel,Bank1 System too Rich

And about a week ago when i reset my check engine light (after i changed all 4 vacume lines) the two codes i were throwing were P0171 and P0172. Unfortunatly the light came back on and I got the first two codes i showed you. So my suspicion was (after reading the forums) that it was the MAFS. Below is the data I loged, please tell me what you make of it. Should't my "air mass in" be alot higher? (2001.5 1.8T AWM, Wett chipped).

Looks like im gona have to start lookin for a MAFS online. Anyone think that i will notice a difference in performance other than hopelly remeding my check engine light once i chage it?

Depending on your mileage, I think you're covered by a recall on the maf. My recollection is it was 70,000 miles but I can't remember if AWM was covered.

I had same code....

I changed my o2 sensor, then I cleaned the MAFS, the check engine light went away in two days.....

how much is a vag-com? is it a tool one can purchase like an obd2 reader, or is it just an interface that you need a laptop for...?
