Could copper tubing replace the plastic (vinyl) dipstick tube of the Mitvac Fluid Evacuator?

Looks like 1/4" would work. It would not bend when hitting the oil pan. The business end could be cut at a slight angle.

Anyone have a reason not to use copper tubing? I definitely want input before I try this.

I like that the tube bends when it hits the pan. I insert the tube so its natural bend goes toward the front passenger side of the pan. Then when it starts slurping, I slowly pull it back to get more as I come out.

Others have pulled the oil plug after vac'ing out their oil and hardly had any come out. I don't know of a reason not to use copper, just don't know of one to use it either...

If you try it, let us know of benefits!

I store my vinyl or plastic tubing in PVC pipe cut to length with end caps on each end. This stands neatly in the storage room and eliminates the mess. I guess I could use this for the copper also.
