At least he didn't paint the front rotors. Notice how the paint on the drum is already fading. :wrench:
First time I saw it I was like "WTF?"

I do admit its better then rust, but do you really want to advertise Drum brakes? Fail on Toyota for cheaping out.....
I dunno what you guys are going on about. at least the owner of the car in the pix has taken the time to dress it up a little, showing pride in ownership... so what if Toyota outfitted the car with drum brakes?

isn't that what we do, show pride in the ownership of our cars? I can't fault the owner for that.

sorry, but I really have to rank this post as fail.

jay, usually with pride comes a tendency to bash the other side. i'm sure there are plenty of vw bashers in ricer forums...
the way we reacted is just a side-effect of our VW pride
something to be said for if you are going to fdo it, do it RIGHT. Why not paint em black? and hide that your newer car has an ancient technology....
lets see, better reliability than a passat, probably stops better than a passat, owner obviously takes care of his car and likes to mod it a little bit, and its not all "riced" out. so whats the point of this pic?

personally if i was going to get a Toyota it would be a celica

WTF??? NOTHING is better than a Passat.
Ha! JMO, but you shouldn't draw attention to old technology like drum brakes. They should have been painted black.

Supra?

Can't believe good condition turbo versions have not depreciated at all.
toyota would be a daily, so i would need a newer one and FWD for winter, so celica GTS for me.

is there an echo in here? ;)
As Jay said, nothing wrong with that. If anything I would blame Toyota for putting drums on that car.....makers STILL do it today.
