Every few days or so, when I turn on a blinker (right or left), the arrow doesn't blink and it just stays lit (as do the actual head and tail lights). I've noticed that if I press the hazard button 3 or 4 times, the blinkers will eventually start working again. (The first few times I press the hazard button, the turn signals just stay lit and don't blink). I don't know why that does the trick, but it always does. Anyone have any ideas as to what may be causing the problem? I assume it's a wiring problem, but I'm a new Passat owner and don't know much about them. It's a 2000 GLX. Thanks for any help. Oh, also, does anyone know how to turn the volume of the blinkers down? Is it possible? They are pretty loud and kind of bug me.
Had the relay behind the hazzard button and repalced on mine which took care of the problem. Since it is a safety issue I think VW might cover it. Check it out. GM just had to do a recall on 1.5 million cars for a similar problem.
