This being my first car with a turbo, I have to confirm.

Is it normal to have a slight burning kind of smell when the turbo kicks in with a whoosh? I think it's normal but some of my friends think there's something wrong.

hmm. it's not offensive. just a slight burnt rubber kinda smell but you can definitely smell it if the sunroof or window's open. i'll have them look at it since my 10k service appointment is tomorrow.

No smell here.

I have never heard of "Turbo Smell" before...

I am thinking it is either your Cat or just normal smells from the engine (usually at high revs a slight burning smell is noticable)

Maybe that's what it is. I'll have them confirm when they service the car. It's been like that since the first day I took it home. If I accelerate fairly hard, then I get that smell but it goes away in a few seconds. Other than that, it's a blast to drive.
