Got into a minor fender bender and need to replace the trunk lid and tail light assembly.

Trunk lid is pretty dinged up and the rear bumper has bulged out a little from the side.

Is there a DIY on trunk lid replacement and rear bumper removal?

Thanks in advance for your help.

I got a trunk lid from a junk yard. They tell me they would have to cut the harness since it goes all the way to the fusebox.

I have the option to detach the harness from my old trunk lid near the lock actuator and install this in the new lid. Or I could just cut my harness and join it to the wires on the new lid.

I would also have to replace the trunk lock on the new trunk lid.

I am interested to hear your suggestions.

Replaced the lock assembly on the replacement trunk and reattached the original wire harness thanks to the video below from DaOneEnOnly.

Kudos to DaOneEnOnly, it was easy after watching the excellent tutorial. Now its as good as new.

Hi Mike, I know this post is almost 5 years old, but I was looking for info on replacing my trunk lid as well. I found a trunk at the local
junk hard and wasn't sure about the wiring harness. You did answer that question. I wasn't sure if there was a connector inside the
rear left quarter panel or not. But see that the wires go all the way back to the fuses. So did you remove your original harness from your
damaged trunk and install it on the new one? That looks to be what I have to do. Seems fairly simple. I saw the video above. Almost made
me sick watching it though. He moves to quickly.
