Last night I installed the Phatbox unit into my car. This morning I loaded the software, then plugged-in the DMS Cradle, then connected the DMS module - Yes, I'm actually following the directions (rare, for me!).

I went through the setup, loaded a CD into the drive, and proceeded through the steps to 'encode' the CD into MP3 format. When I press the "Start Encoding" button, this pops up; "Not enough free disk space to encode song" ....WHAT??

This is my first attempt, there's nothing but the pre-loaded files on the DMS cartridge, so I know it's not full.

I went through the steps a couple more times, and tried a few things but I get to this point and receive the same error each time. I tried different CDs - no help.

Any clue as to what is (or isn't) happening? Is it a case of ineptness on my part??....I think I'm doing everything correctly.

Let me know if any of you have run into this and what I should do to resolve.

I should have mentioned that it shouldn't be an issue with disk space...I have 54 GB of hard drive space available. But I'll keep searching through the options to see if something isn't set up correctly. I should be able to copy (encode) directly from the CD, correct? Maybe I'll try setting up a file on the hard drive and copying the info there first, and then use the hard drive as the source instead of the CD to see if that buys me anything.

I figured out what was wrong. In the Options page under the "CD Encoder" tab, I didn't notice that the program had selected my CD Rom drive as the "Base Directory for Encoded Songs", instead of my hard drive.
