I know it sure was asked before but after 1 hr of research I could not find the code for my B5 1998 that I bought yesterday and I need to order a part.
I could not find any sticker on the trunk.
The sticker in the drivers door reads:

and I found this sticker under the hood:

Any body help me pleaseee!!

The sticker you need is in the spare tire well. If it's the engine code you are looking for, and you have the 1.8T, it's also on a lifting lug under the engine cover.

thanks sir, I could not find any sticker under the spare tire.
So I guess I will have to remove the engine cover then...
