And if you think that you can pick-up 22 hp on a NA engine simply by reprogramming the ECU, I've got some nice property in N.O. for you...

...and they want $1,195? No thanks but that's the power of numbers.

Wetterauer chips start at $1,249.00 for Porsche's .. They are claiming around 15-20hp for the N/A Boxter. The 911T is stock 420hp advanced to: 480hp and rund $1999.00 USD !! If you want to go to 540hp for the 911T you're talking $7549.00 .. But that's not just software, you're talking hardware of course too. probably the same with UpSolute.. you start talking big numbers like that, and you're looking at changing out mechanical parts too.

But if you can afford to drive a Porsche, then you can afford to throw around that kind of money also. Just imagine what the insurance is like on something like that.

chips for "popular" cars that people normally drive are cheap. apr charges $4k for a 996 tt chip.
Exactly. It's all about economics. Development and testing of a chip takes time, effort and knowledge, all of which cost money. If they develop a chip for the 1.8T engine they can sell it for "cheap" and sell them many times over.
