Hi,

On a cold morning 4 weeks ago, my check engine light turned on. The dealer ordered the part (canister valve), reset the code in the computer and told me it was ok to drive the car even if the light turn on again.

Monday, the same thing happened and my dealer also told me it was ok to drive the car even if the light was on. The part is still in back order.

Since Monday, I drive my car with the check engine on.

Is it a known problem ? It reminds me the coilpack problem.

I drove mine around for several months before it got fixed and it caused no problems. When the coilpacks failed, it gave me a blinking CEL.

Yes, if it were coil packs, I doubt you would be driving it. It would really be running rough and the CEL would blink.

Solid CEL = OK to drive, but needs to be checked.
Blinking CEL= Volkswagenese for "My universe just collaspsed-Stop now.

If they are replacing a canister valve, you should be OK.
