I will be dropping the subframe to swap the transmission on a 2000 w/1.8T ATW FWD auto.

Car has about 250K miles. Should I go ahead and replace the oil pump since I will have the chance to get the oil pan off? I wasn't having any oil pressure issues beforehand but that's a lot of miles.

Any suggestions on best place to get a new oil pump? I've searched and found a pretty big range in prices.

Lastly, anything else I should consider while I have the tranny off? I have a rear main seal replacement in mind already.

Thanks in advance!

If you plan to do the rear main seal, you might as well do the oil pump. I've only replaced one on the older 058 block and I do not recall the brand.

Thanks, that's what I'll do. I found 058115105C is the oil pump part number for ATW engine so I ordered one, hope that's right.
