Hello,
I have a 2004 B5.5 which currently has a Gamma radio and a CD player (which also says CD Changer on it - never understood that)
I intend on Swapping my CD player for the CD changer - the VW 6 CD changer thing that comes as stock in some cars.
Is it a straight swap as in, unplug the cables from the back of the player and stick them into the changer? Will I have to put in my radio code or anything? I don't know it.
I know nothing about car sound systems so as much help as possible would be great and anything you could say to help wouldn't be patronising. Do I disconnect the battery, for example? I would assume not since I don't have my radio code.
While I'm here, I would also like to replace the radio with one of the same since the volume knob is faulty. If i purchased one with a code I assume that would be a straight swat, turn on the ignition and it'll ask me for the code?
