I have the Audi A6 Strut Tower Brace: http://www.drewparts.com/product.asp?ProductID=440964

I think I paid around $80 last year (the strong Euro must have raised the price).

I did have to cut (with a hacksaw) about 1.5" off of one side of the aluminum bar, and then drill two new holes for the bracket.
It was really quite easy to install, but I put it in several times in order to 'gradually' get all my measurements correct prior to cutting/drilling.

Do a "search" to find out more.

Good luck!

I've seen a Sparco part, but I'm having a really hard time finding it. I believe there's also one from LLTek.
I was in sparco's site and couldn't find one.
If you decide to go with A6 Strut Bar, here is the installation instruction:

The Sparco bar is for an A4, not a Passat. It just works on the Passat.
And I think the Sparco bar requires some drilling into the car

Don't forget our 20% discount with Drew ... use coupon "CLUBB5" at checkout
You can also buy a slightly modified version of the A6 bar from purems.com.
It's a bit thicker, powder coated, and ready to bolt in.

What bar do they have? I didn't see one listed for a B5 or a B5.5.

Same like from OMP for Audi A4, fits for B5
Pure Motor Sports.... Beware depending your year the Pure Motor Sports bar and the A6 retro may not clear you AC lines. I like these bars because you don't see them when the hood is open.
Will the strut bar profile fit in a W8 engine compartment? It is pretty well packed without much room for any additions.
Here is another of how the Sparco looks.

Word of advice on the Sparco bar though...You need to have the round brake reservour...not the iregular shepped (kinda looks like a square and circle intersecting each other) I added a pic showing the area of the reservour. That is the type you'll need to have in order to install it. Also you'll need to drill 4 holes (2 on each side) in order to totally secure the bar...or u can just use the 2 strut bolts and not drill.

Hope that helps. (as for where to get it...just goto any local rice shop or speed shop that carries or can get sparco products and ask for the sparco strut tower bar for the B5 A4)
just installed A6 tower bar, here are some pics
