Is there a fuse for the starter on this model?
During an attempt to start a very cold engine the door alarm horn honked for some reason and now the starter does nothing. Dash lights are bright as is the dome lights.
Try disconnecting the battery for a while, then re-connect (fully charged or re-charged as necessary). Sounds like very low voltage may have triggered the immobilizer. And no, there is no fuse for the starter motor itself.
Battery charge (and power reset) not a bad idea.
But, that was an alarm event, not an Immobilizer thing. Possibly you (however inadvertently) locked the car with the remote, just prior to attempting to start the engine?
This post was to someone with a W8 car - but, starter operation is the same:
Went to the Dr to day every thing was fine wife came out tried to unlock car with remote would not unlock so she used the key lock , put key in ignition all dash lights came on car wont turn over? windows wont go up or down with key or door switches? if you lock car with remote the horn beeps...
