proud owner of a B6 passat with the 2.0T FSI BPY motor. current setup:
HPS air Intake
3 inch down pipe with cat res delete 2 O2 sensor, and using a O2 rear spacer to keep the CEL off
RSK coil over kit

Looking for a Tune. definitely want to go with a Stage 2, however not sure if I need a stage 1 prior to going to stage 2.
I have found several tunes with handheld install,
Unitronic https://www.moddedeuros.com/products...ed[]=10910
IE stage 2 https://www.moddedeuros.com/products...ed[]=13466
IE stage 2 gains on 91 octane are 60hp/90 torque
Unitronic are 60hp/ 88 torque however on 93 octane. highest we have here in Seattle is 91 octane.
what would you do?

You do NOT have to install Stage 1 first !!!
There are two ways of installing a tune:
1.) Let some dealer do it for you.
2.) Buy or rent a special tool which plugs into the OBD II port and install it yourself.

By buying the tool you can revert back to the OEM tune. Different tuners have different names for the tool, I have a Malone Tune Stage 2, the tool is called "Flashzilla" and costs about $ 200.00 to buy.
