Re: Special Tribute to Richard S. Gabrielle who was lost in ... (pipes)

This made me cry when I read it the first time. Very nicely written.
I don't want to read it again because it unleashes so much emotion.

Let's all pray for the victims and families of 9/11.

RIP Richard. We at the CB5 family miss you.

Nice tribute. I've read this last year, and read it again today, and it still brought tears to my eyes.

Ditto that. I read the tribute (well written) while I ate my Special K... Very touching, I never met him but Richard was the closest I came to knowing anyone out there and it still makes me misty eyed. My heart goes out to those who lost someone.

Yahoo has a nice tribute set up to create "tiles" I made one, felt good.

A very sad day, my office has a moment of silence at noon.

Re: Special Tribute to Richard S. Gabrielle who was lost in ... (The GREEK)

I was in Manhattan last Sept. 11 as I am every day. Up until that day, the large numbers of people bustling around the city seemed not to have much in common with one another. Reading about Rich is yet another reminder of how close we really are. The mood here is different now. We get along better. We are getting to know more about what we have in common.

Thank you for posting this tribute.

Well.. I am 24 and don't have much experiance with such a loss..

that tribute and the comment put in the paper made me quite sad..

His
was as important to him as mine is to me..

Thanks for the fine article and the chance to read it..

I am still shocked by the events that took place that day..

And will never forget..

Re: Special Tribute to Richard S. Gabrielle who was lost in ... (Flippped)

Richard was just mentioned on the news just now on KABC 7 in Los Angeles.

They were interviewing a custodian who knew the towers really well and was the only person who has a master key to all the doors in the stairwells since the building was designed to lock the doors every 3 floors. Basically he was very key person during those crucial moments. Also, this custodian was the last person to be rescued from the north tower.

Anyway, as they were interviewing him, they showed him walking through a memorial of flowers and pictures. And as they were nearing the end of this walk and the interview, he stops at a picture and says I even knew this person. The picture ended being Richard S. Gabrielle.

May he rest in peace. And God Bless all those who lost their lives for our country!

I can't read it again. I read it once and it will always stick with me. I can't read it again. As I can't sit in front of the TV and watch the images over and over again.

Never again do I want to see that type of action taken against American citizens. For that matter, anyone else! I'm still very, very very

Early yesterday morning I was taking my two children to pre-school when out of no where this flight of four, F-16 fighters in a very tight diamond formation screems over head, scaring the crap out of my kids and the other kids walking into school. Not far from the school is a Buckley airfield, a USAF base. In the past, the flights from this base used to be a bit bothersome. Not any longer. At that moment I looked up at those fighters with a tear in my eyes and felt very proud to be an American, knowing how far we have come as a Nation since last year and also remembering the poor souls who died.
It felt good to know that those planes were flying in that formation as a tribute of some sort. But also knowing that they were on high alert protecting against any possible threat. This flight of jets wasn't on one of the usual training runs that fly out of Buckley from time to time, as they all carried a full load of sidewinder missles under and at the tips of their wings! It was a very Powerful moment in deed!

God Bless American and the fallen!
