Ok, I just installed this new stereo in my car yesterday and so far I am in love with it. It looks so much better than the stock HU in the daytime and at night. The display color red is super bright at night and it matches the stock VW looks perfectly.

As far as the sound goes, it is so much crisp and clearer than stock. The bass and the clarity are the biggest differences after I swapped in the Sony. It sounds like I have a sub in the back.

Also, this stereo has alot of neat little features such as USB port and Aux input in front for easy access. Their Quick Browse and Zapping features make it so easy and fast to scan through thousand of songs. You can literally find your favorite mp3s in a matter of seconds. This stereo is fast and I totally love it.

and guess what? it has built it crossovers! but the downside about this model is that it doesn't have iPod control. There's another model (same price) which does but in exchange for the crossovers. I picked the crossovers over the iPod control because I only use the USB flash drive to play music in the car.

I got this stereo on Crutchfield.com for $129.99 with no tax and free shipping. It also comes with free harnesses, dash pocket, euro atenna adapter, tools to take out the stock HU, and instructions. AWESOME deal!

If you are looking to spend $200 or more on Crutchfield then you can use my referral code: p1p31-wu8ag-2uy45 to get $20 off your purchase. I also get $20 off on my next purchase ;)

If you guys want some night pictures let me know. I will upload them on here.

I have a CDX-GT820ip, it's alright. I only bought it since I had the Sony disc changer and Sony Sirius module for it.

Personally, I think the QuickBrowse kinda sucks. I hardly use my iPhone with it because it takes wayyyyyyy too long to browse the entire track list. I guess if I was using it with a smaller iPod it would be handy, but scrolling through 15 gigs of music is a bit of a pain. I can start looking for a song when I leave my apartment, and by the time I find it, I'm more than halfway to my destination.

I personally own a few 4gb thumb drives and I can find my favorite mp3s in a matter of seconds. I can't imagine that the 15 gig is any harder if you set up the genres and playlists correctly. You have the discontinued model so the QuickBrowse might be a little different now...i don't know but it's very easy and fast for me.

^Yea, I've set up a few Genius playlists that are a bit easier to scroll through. I'll take a quick vid demonstrating what I'm talking about, tho. Maybe the HU handles smaller libraries better, because I don't recall it being this bad when I first started using it, and the iPhone was only half full at that time.

But I feel like a tool now. I've had this thing for almost a year, and I just figured out how to use the Jump feature as I was shooting this vid. This thing's pretty sweet after all.
