i have the sony explod cd player/HU with the motorized face plate. the problem i am having is that the cd's won't play.they are accepted into the slot, but then just sound like they are spinning around inside the unit with a rattling sound. does this sound fixable or should i start looking for a new unit?
i bought the unit used from a cb5 member and it worked just fine for the past few months.the reciever and the motorized faceplate , remote , etc all work fine still.

thanks in advance for any advice or help you can provide.

I'll bet it's not cost effective to fix it. I'd just get a new one.

 oh well, guess its only radio for a while. but if someone wants to blow sunshine up my butt and tell me it is fixable by a total novice, please do.

You guys are useless. Give me a nickel, some duct tape and a pair of jumper cables. I'll show you McGuyver!!

REALLY: I had an Alpine that sort of had the same symptoms. Took it in and the engagement clutch was bad. Replaced it for like $40.00. Worked great. It was a 7903S connected to a 5903. In fact I still own them today. They're sitting on my shelf. I keep saying I'm going to put it in my 83 GTi so that they're period correct :D .

I don't think I have ever seen the words, "blow up doll", "photon ray gun", "cockroach", "mexican", "GI Joe", and "Duck tape" all in one thread. That's definitely a CB5 first.

BTW no one rag on McGyver, my dream in life is to walk into a room and hear someone begin to play the McGyver theme music in the back ground. Yes I am just that pathetic sometimes... :weirdo:

McGuyver Rules! I still watch his reruns.

Imagine what he would do now with two side markers, a bic lighter, an old remote control = Cell phone with flashing lights...

I really think the transmogrifier is right on. I've seen those baby's work wonders. Even McGuyver can't touch the poser of the transmogrifier.

BTW anyone know when the Mcguyver DVD's are going to come out? I would love to find something like that in my christmas stocking.
