After seeing a large number of posts about accidents (Some much worse than others), and while another "Show your ride" thread is going strong. I was curious to see if anyone would be interested in seeing a collection of Passat wrecks. I would be willing to save all the pictures posted on my image hosting site.

I am a little concerned with starting this thread, and if anyone believes it to be in bad taste, I will quickly ask the mods to lock it. I do not want to sound morbid, but I think posting a picture of the Passat (Or other VW?) with the date of the accident and possibly a short description of the accident may be interesting.

I will begin with mine (5/12/04):

Here are links to the other accidents that made me think of this thread:

If for any reason you want your car removed from this page, I will gladly do so.

This is my '91 G60 Corrado. Last April, I had it at the garage getting some driveability issues addressed, when the mechanic started it by reaching in through the driver's side window. The car was in reverse. It dragged the mechanic across the lot and rolled into the shop owner's motor home. The car suffered almost $6K in damage which is being repaired.

This happened to me back in February of 2001, 4 days after I took delivery:

I curse the SUV driver who ran through the stop sign and slid into my parked car.

Guess the mechanic learned his lesson
