Hi,

I need some guidance. I have a 2013 VW Passat S and I have
found seats from a salvage yard from a 2012 Passat that has
leatherette seats. BTW, they are very cheap and look great.

I was thinking about buying them and having a shop take my
cloth covers off and putting on the leatherette ones. I thought
it would be easy enough to do but this one shop is telling me
that there could be "air bag compatibility issues."

Is there something I'm missing? Would just swapping the seat
covers affect the air bags inside the seat?

Thanks

Being same year and model, the seats swap is a direct fit, no compatibility issues as the seams on the material are designed to allow the airbags to deploy properly when activated so swapping out just the covers would be the same.

Hi Mexicokid,

I would love to do that but the driver seat in my car isn't powered
so I'd have to make an even bigger mess trying to get power to my
manual seat. As far as I know, VW doesn't put leatherette on the S
models.
