Has anyone removed the stock suitcase resonator and left the stock muffler? I'm looking for the simplest and lowest cost of gaining a bit of lower tone to the exhaust, gaining hp is not necessary, just wondering if this is okay and will I get a drone over the years?
Thanks.

Thanks for the insight....i might have to think twice before removing it now...
Well, my car is kind of tuned to its limit, so don't pay attention to that (I'm running 15+ lbs of boost on a stock ECU...)

Lots of other people have removed resonators, some replace it with a glasspack, w/o problems. And if you think about it, look at all the people that have replaced the entire exhaust, going from 2.25" to 2.5" diameter. None of these cars are having problems. So I think you'd be perfectly safe to remove your resonator. Save 30 lbs!
