I need to change the dreaded coolant flange on an 01 Passat AWM. Has anyone removed the transmission mount bolts & jacked the rear of the tranny up to give more access to the rear of the head?
It would not give much more room as the trans can only go up 1-2" before hitting the center tunnel. If you remove the combi valve, you have plenty of room to reach around the side of the engine to the bolts on back.
