Rear windows wont go down after speaker install

Over the weekend I installed I small bose speaker in my trunk. I tapped into the left back door speaker wires. not the best way on doing it but it worked. clean install. I have the monsoon system so it jams.
So now I have 2 problems.
1 is when I put my volume up kinda loud the speaker I tapped into makes a popping noise but when I turn it down just a notch it stops. makes it just at a high volume.
2 is when I installed that speaker now my the rear windows wont work. and worked before hand.
all the fuses are good and I disconnected the battery and checked again still not working.
Can someone please help.....thanks

Lol im sure you are pulling too much power from the speaker. If the window and the door use the same supply then that must be your problem.

ok ill disconnect it to see what happens. thanks
but if my car radio is off then no power will be getting used from the speaker so should the window go down?
You may need to pull the door panel off again if you temporarily disconnected any wiring plugs while the door panel was off. IIRC, the window switch for the driver's rear (or pass. rear) door must be connected for the power window to work...even if using the driver's door switches to roll the window down.

Pull the panel to check for loose harness connectors...with Power Windows, Power Locks, a Puddle Light, and speaker connections all inside the door, it's easy to do.

Hi that ks for your reply. I didn't pull of the door panel to wire the speaker. I pulled the mid panel between the driver's door and the passenger door. They had different wires in that harness. Speaker wire is always twisted. So I knew witch ones to use. So I only messed with those two wires. I didn't mess with too much to connect this speaker. Took off panel, seen those two wires I needed. Tapped them in and that's it. I'll open it back up to check to see if there's anything loose like you said.

OK update. I pulled it all apart. Nothing was disturbed or loose or unplugged. Windows still don't come down.
The window button is still lit up so I know it's getting power.
The poping noise.
I unplugged the added speaker and it did stop making that noise.
I have a feeling that by me tapping into that wire triggered a glitch in my system.
So I don't know what else to do.
I hate to go spend 150 just for vw to tell me it'll cost 300 more to fix it:no_mouth:
Tapping into the speaker wires should not affect the window controls..

The popping is most likely the amp due to a lower load requiring more current. What is the additional speaker you added, and what is it's input impedance?

Window controls should be separate from audio controls. Do you have a VAGCOM? Know anyone who does? Scan the car and see if you have any errors.
