Hi Everyone
Today I was doing a through cleaning of my vehicle apparently I never had a manual for this car from the start.
I discovered this little thing just in front of my rear view mirror as attached below.(My image might be clear cause its reflecting into

the rear view mirror)
it has a little red dot(light on the Centre).
Its foldable into the ceiling.

I am curious what it is can anyone can shed a light please.

Some have said it is to keep the map lights from shining onto the mirror, but for me, it blocks the sunlight in that little gap between the mirror and the roof. I don't know anything about the dot.
