Does anyone here have any experience with the Auto Wipers function??

I know:

#1. Our 2013 does have the sensor plus the harness.

#2. Some V-W Techs don't know squat about it.

#3. Would my wife like it??

#4. What is the sequence-of-operation?

#5. Any anything else?

I have it in my CC and love it. Works pretty well. Came standard on mine. Can't remember how it was set, but leave it on intermittent and it will only swipe when the sensor detects water over it and while moving.

I have enabled the rain sensing wipers on my 2013 Passat with VCDS. the interval control on the wiper control stalk determines the sensitivity of the wiper sensor after it is enabled. It works well but every once and a while it THINKS it sees rain and wipes once. Not really a problem just an idiosyncrasy.

Thanks for all of the comments so far, but I have more questions,
lol..

OK--You've got the brain-box all re-programmed, and everything works..so far so good..

Can you then just wipe the windshield once..?? In full manual control?? Just like before you made the change??

Yup. You can clear the windshield manually like before by pulling down for a single swipe.

Wow..this is WAY cool..thank you...next up---

the wiper blade:How long can you expect them to last??
Some observations--Man, they sure are quiet, come
to find out, the blades have carbon in them, like the carbon/graphite in a pencil's lead:
*self lubricating* is what they call it. German Engineering.

You mean graphite? Depending how often they are used. I usually give them 6 months.

VAGuy===

Yeah, I meant graphite, and have since edited my question..thanks.

The addition of the graphite works very well, esp. on a dry(er) wipe. This is the first/newest German car that we have ever owned, and we are easily amazed, lol...anyway the mfg. process
must be internationally protected by an air tight patent or else we would have the same wiper blades here..?? I have no reason to believe the ones on the car today aren't OEM, so that means they have lasted far past the 6-mo. life span that you mentioned...

You can get graphite coated blades/inserts here too. I got graphite inserts from dubstop for my b5.5 blades.
