Radio Anti-Theft Code???

5114 Views 11 Replies 6 Participants Last post by  baisee00
I have a 98 Passat and I unplugged my battery to reapholster my seats (aka undo the airbag wiring etc). Now after plugging it back in my radio wont work and I have an airbag light on in the dash. How do I find my radio code and why is the airbag light on? Thanks,
Gavin

The radio code can be found in the wheel well, amazing but true! and the lights on because the air bag connection in your seat was disconnected or still is!

if everything is installed correcly ( all the wire are cliped in) and its still on youll need some one to clear it for you

vag-com can do this

or the dealer for a few $$$ ( probably a lot of $$$)
Where in the wheel well can you find the anti-theft code for the radio?

I think he means the spare tire wheelwell. You may also have the code in the owner's manual. In mine, there's a card that's meant to be detached where the dealer is supposed to write in the code.

Or, you could just stop by your dealer and see if they have the info handy.
Just to let you guys know, in case anyone else is in need of this code, I finally found mine yesterday. My Radio Anti-Theft code was on a sticker on the underside of my trunk bed liner. When you lift it up like you are going to get your spare out, the code was on the bottom of the liner. Hope this helps.

that's so weird that they put the radio code in the car..... wasn't it meant as a security feature? but I guess it's convienent for people who misplaced theirs....... i just say go aftermarket heheh :p
