Pirelli Winter 190 Snowsport... worth it?

Ok fellow winter drivers, help me out... I vowed last winter I would never-ever drive through the winter on all-season tires again. On that note, has anyone had experience with Pirelli Winter 190 Snowsports? The Tirerack has them on a “closeout” for $65 each in my size. Are they worth the packaging they’re shipped in? Based on the Pirelli website, it’s what I’m looking for. But we all know, marketing and reality are not always the same.

Haven't had experience with the Pirelli's. However, the Michelin Arctic Alpin's on my gf's 99 1.8t tip were great (even with an auto tranny.) It was pretty difficult to lose traction in 3-4 inches of fresh snow.

Jim,

While I have not used the new Winter 190 Snowsport, I have used the older 190/210P's and they were awesome! Great performance even in the dry and plenty good in the snow. Nothing worse than a snow tire that is all over the road when the pavement is dry....... especially on the highway!

Thanks for the replies. I may have found a local source for snows at a reasonable price.
