Is the oil cooler leaking coolant?
I couldn't add picture using my phone. Here it is.
I replaced the oil cooler gasket early this year.
Is the coolant leak going to lead to a bigger problem? Or, do I need a new oil cooler?

By the way, is there a passatworld app for apple? The web version sux.

I too hate the mobile version of this site.

You can use tapatalk, though I am not a big fan of that app.

But at least you can use it to post pics, since photobucket got all douchey.

I use tapatalk and actually works pretty well, even for admin/Moderator duties.

Where is the leak coming from? Is it wet around the hose ends or the seam of the cooler?

Use Norma or better clamps for coolant hoses to replace the "get it done quick and don't slow the production line down!" factory spring clamps.

Dremel and a careful hand cuts through the factory clamps in seconds.

I can't see where it originates but the pink residue is on the edge of the cooler. I am not sure if you can see in the pic. It doesn't look like it's leaking from the hoses.

These oil coolers are known weak spots, but usually because of internal leaks (cross-contamination of oil and coolant), rather than external. I have had to replace the oil cooler at least once on every VW/Audi car I have ever owned.

You are right. I may end up changing the oil cooler.
