Pic Request - W8 Factory Exhaust!

Hi Guys,

I have a 2004.5 Passta 1.8T 4Motion and am interested in installing an exhaust system that 1) would maintain the factory sound - QUIET and 2) would have exposed tips. In looking around my options are limited unless I want to go aftermarket in which case it gets loud, which is not my goal. I saw a W8 drive by the other day and 2 things intrigued me. 1) The factory rear valance on the car has cut outs for dual exhaust with exposed tips, which takes care of one of my other issues, which is simply how to get the tips exposed without lowering the cans and without cutting up my valance and 2) the W8 seemed to have chrome tips, which in my opinion looked quite nice for a factory set up. So I'm thinking of picking up a W8 rear valance and a couple W8 exhaust cans. This seems like a good solution to my problem.

If anyone has a W8 could you please take some detailed pictures of your exhaust and post them up for me to compare to mine to see if they'd fit?

Thanks!

I don't really have any advice... I'm looking for exactly the same thing.
I want an exposed tailpipe, but I want it to be factory quiet.

So far, the only thing I can think to do is to cut the rear valence, cut the factory tailpipes where they bend downwards, and extend them with chrome or stainless steel pieces.

I'd appreciate any ideas too...

Jimmy :)
If you guys have both have :b5: .5's with 4 motion then here is my suggestion get the rear valance from a W8 then go to the muffler shop and have them weld on some oval tips or some 1 into dual tips that way you can have the adjust how much tip sticks out so that you don't burn to paint on the bumper.
On a V6 or 1.8T 4 Motion, I must agree that the W8 Rear Valence would look very clean. I would look at replacing the diffusers/mufflers with one's from Remus or consider the SuperSprint or Brullen exhaust systems.
Here was my solution .. I cut off the curved turndowns and had 2" ss stubs 4" long welded on and added my own tips .. Thes I made on a lathe but W8 ones I am sure would work ..
I only had to notch the valance very little and if I take off the tips I need to squat down and look to see the notch so at trade in time it won't be noticed.

A W8 valance would be perfect. I would add the valance *then* weld up the stubs with the W8 tips on hand for reference.

Looks good. I'm really liking the twin tips off the W8 though! :)
Somebody show him the oval RS6 exhaust tips too
Here you go

I am wondering if I can just get the muffler and fit it into a B5.5 1.8T FWD.
Anyone?

Actually I like the W8 style as well if I can just get the muffler and fit into my car.

not the best pic but

the car on the far right is Flippped's W8 (with painted lowers) and the third from the right is Larrs' W8
