I know it's a crazy question, but does anyone have pics of their passat without doors on it? I'm thinking about something (Julian and BoeserBlick probably know what I'm thinking) but need to see what the car looks like without doors to completely visualize.

call me crazy, but i think suicide doors would be awesome. of course, one of my all time favorite cars was the 60's lincoln continental with suicide doors

THe problem with doing suicide doors is getting the hinges in good locations where

A) they're not going ot just collapse due to the weight of the door

B) The door itself won't get torqued off the hinge (if you only use one)

There's an mk3 Jetta with suicides floating around, but the doors swing back and up, NOT like a gull, more like the hinges are on the back side of the window. I don't like the look at all.

I'm brewing a different idea now tho, so we'll see what happens after I do some more research.
