Does anybody have a way to check a vehicle history? I know I can pay something like $50.00 for one but some people can look up unlimited amount of vehicles on their account. I don't know if this would be a problem or not.
I just picked up a 2003 Passat 177K with the 1.8t AWM motor and I'd like to get a history report. I wasn't looking for another car but this car was posted on a popular website very cheap and the owner said he was the original owner and all the service was do at the local dealer he bought the car from. All I got out of him was that he did have the timing belt done but he could not remember when or the mileage he had no proof of anything I just had to take his word for it. I have just completed a timing belt job (thanks to this site) and it seems to be ok but not sure because I have not taken it out for a test ride yet. Anyway I would love to see the service records for the car I plan on keeping it and want to make sure everything if up to date.
