Ok to buy headlights w/ broken vertical headlight aimer?

The headlights on my 01.5 are thrashed and need to be replaced. I found a used OEM hella pair for $130 but the description says that on the left assembly, the "vertical headlight aimer" is broken. Is this ok, or will the entire housing bounce around in the assembly? I'd rather not spend $370+ on two new headlamps.

Thanks guys.

unsure if it means the beam aim adjuster or the electic leveller
Here you can see the adjuster missing on the right (left housing)... These are just standard halogen

someone correct me if I am wrong, but doesn't it mean if that piece is missing, you won't be able to adjust the headlight up and down very well, if at all, considering it probably wouldn't stay in place anyways.

Essentially correct, except that it stays in place OK. most common failure is that the nylon gear breaks loose from the adjusting shaft. One of the reasons I replaced my headlights; don't buy them with this problem.
