Oil Capacity for 2004 V6

Hey all! I did a search to see if this was discussed and couldn't find it. Whats the oil capacity for the V6 engine? I'm getting ready to do a oil change (I also found a great deal on 5W-40 Valvoline) and was wondering how much I need to get. I couldn't find this information anywhere in the manual. I was going to call VWoA, but I like you all much more :D . Thanks in advance.

I think the 2000 and up takes 6.5 Qts with the filter for the V6. Torque you drain plug to 22 ft/lbs.
SEARCH!!!!!!!!!

Thanks a lot Vee-acht. I appreciate the info on how much to torque the drain plug also (didn't know that). I seriously searched that manual to no avail. I knew some friends here could help me. I know, I know. I need to search better. I always do, but obviously don't use the correct phrases or whatnot.
lol . . . . 22ftlbs is like nothing.

Really? I don't know. How much should I do then? This is my first oil change for my girlfriends car.

22ft lbs. is correct for the drain plug according to vw shop manual.
Also for 2000-above oil capacity with oil filter changed should be approximately 6.5 qts. NOTE: You may not need eactly 6.5 qts as this is only an approximation if the crank case is completely drained of oil..To be sure you're not overfilling .. I'd recommend checking the level after the 5th qt. to see if the oil level is already at the hatched marked area of the dip stick.... this way you can guage if you should ad the entire 6th qt. and a 1/2 more if needed. important becareful not the overfill past the hatched marked area on the level indicator on the dip stick. _ Mil
Mil - Thanks a lot! I appreciate it. I don't want to mess up her ride. Not only because it's hers, but also because I love that car :D It will eventually be mine - after we get a 2005 Passat wagon TDI next year. I'm looking forward to that day!!!!!!

Not a problem.. anything to help a passat vdub family member.

2005 i've seen the sedan.. Its nice. but for me will take some getting used to looking at it. I don't particularly like the tail lamps.. though not sure what a wagon looks like ?? curious..
Wait, I brought my dealership 6qts and they put in 5.8 or something, gave me a bit left in the 6th bottle
